Are you ready to take your teaching to the next level and cultivate a lifelong practice of awareness? Discover the true essence of yoga in our advanced 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training.

With a strong focus on yogic philosophy, pranayama, and meditation, this course takes you on the authentic path of yoga according to ancient traditions: classical Hatha Yoga and traditional Tantra. You will gain all the necessary tools to expand your own practice or to step into your calling as a teacher and guide.

  • Cultivate awareness – learn to recognize and familiarize inner silence through daily meditation.
  • Gain deeper wisdom – study ancient yogic philosophy to support your journey toward the goal of yoga.
  • Level up your teaching skills – build confidence in combining asana and pranayama for an optimal balance of body and mind.
  • Move beyond asana – gain hands-on experience teaching other aspects of yoga, such as advanced pranayama and meditation.
  • Embody the yogic lifestyle – spend six weeks in our peaceful private beach resort, immersed in the study and practice of yoga.
  • Feel the benefits of healthy eating – fuel your body and mind with wholesome plant-based meals.
  • Cultivate loving kindness – realize the softness of being, becoming more gentle with yourself and others along the way.

During the six-week training, you will deepen your knowledge of yoga philosophy, anatomy and physiology, teaching methodology, the yogic lifestyle, and more. Our hands-on approach will give you profound insights into yoga through direct experience.

WHAT MAKES THIS TRAINING SPECIAL?

“True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed, yoga is to be lived. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied.“ — Aadil Palkhivala

Only studying the theory of yoga is not enough. To fully understand yoga, it needs to be experienced. Therefore, this training is highly practice-oriented, dedicating many hours to the exploration, embodiment, and integration of yogic wisdom. Where other programs only scratch the surface, our 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training takes you on a deep dive.

Although you will have time to explore the island, we recommend staying on campus as much as possible to experience the profound benefits of an ongoing practice. Taking this time to “retreat” from the outside world will help you deepen your awareness, cultivate focus and discipline, and start looking for true happiness within.

CURRICULUM

YOGA TECHNIQUES, TRAINING, AND PRACTICE

This training focuses on classical Hatha, the “yoga of force.” The daily practice will be a balanced mix of asana, pranayama, and other techniques. Other styles such as Vinyasa and Yin Yoga will also be offered. Throughout the course, you will study and practice:

  • Asana – the classical yoga poses along with their physical, energetic, and healing effects. Modern additions and variations from intermediate to advanced are included.
  • Pranayama – traditional yogic breathing techniques will be practiced on a daily basis.
  • Mudra – important yogic “seals” will be studied and practiced.
  • Bandha – “energetic locks” will be applied, combined with asana and pranayama.
  • Shatkarma – classical purification techniques will be explained and practiced.

MEDITATION

This training has a deep focus on meditation, as all primary practices of yoga should lead to meditation – and through the practice of meditation to samadhi. Yoga is a spiritual path and all spiritual paths lead to self-realization.

Although your goal may not be the diminishing of the sense of self until the attainment of nirvana, having a deeper understanding of what that is and, even more profoundly, experiencing glimpses of pure consciousness will make you an authentic teacher of yoga. Teaching from that space, the spaciousness of our true essence, one transmits true yoga.

  • The meditation program will start with guided practices of awareness to differentiate between direct experience and the interpretation of direct experience, recognize awareness as awareness, and become more familiar with pure being.
  • Once the familiarization has been established, we will practice a technique in our daily meditation practices leading to the dwelling in awareness as awareness.
  • Having gained a deep understanding through direct experience, you will practice guiding others into the inherently peaceful spaciousness of being.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The Art of Teaching module will give you ample opportunity to develop your teaching style. Guided by seasoned yoga teachers, you will hone your teaching skills, learn to guide more advanced practices, and create a supportive environment for your students. This module covers:

  • Review of essential teaching skills and tools.
  • Combining asana and pranayama for more powerful classes.
  • Teaching various kinds of meditation from classical techniques to modern mindfulness practices.
  • Teaching the philosophy of yoga to beginners.
  • Weaving yogic philosophy into your classes.
  • Trauma awareness – holding space, safe vocabulary, and asana awareness.

YOGA ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY

Modern yoga teachers need a solid understanding of the human body. Therefore, our training devotes much more time to Anatomy and Physiology than the minimum 10 hours required by Yoga Alliance. Led by an experienced teacher and yoga therapist, you will study:

  • Anatomy
    • Review of Physical Anatomy
    • Organs and Their Relation to Yoga
  • Applied Functional Anatomy
    • Mapping the Physical Body and Asana through the Lens of the Myofascia Lines in Theory and Embodied Practice
    • Functional and Accessible Yoga Sequencing for Target Groups and Common Injuries
  • Yoga Meets Science
    • The Nervous System
    • Polyvagal Theory
    • The Brain, Consciousness, and Meditation
    • Mental Health and Trauma Sensitivity
    • The Breath and Heart Relation
    • Hormonal Health
    • Healthy Digestion
    • Yoga for Anxiety
    • Pelvic Floor and Female Cycle

YOGA PHILOSOPHY, LIFESTYLE, AND ETHICS

In this module, you will review and deepen your understanding of the key concepts in yogic philosophy that you may know from your 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training. To expand your knowledge, you will dive into core texts of traditional Tantra and Hatha Yoga.

The Vijnana Bhairava Tantra is a classic Tantric text that describes 112 ways for entering divine awareness right here in the midst of everyday life. It first appeared around the 9th century and is one of the main source texts from the Trika lineage of the classical Tantric traditions. During this training, you will:

  • Receive an overview of what this text contains and the message it conveys.
  • Look at different translations and their unique flavor.
  • Learn what it says about pranayama and the breath.
  • Meditate on verses related to chakras, mantras, and sound.
  • Cultivate the ability to focus and meditate.
  • Gain insight into states of deeper surrender.
  • Discover ways to transfigure the mundane and ordinary aspects of life into more beauty and richness.
  • Discuss how we can practically interweave the knowledge of the text into daily life.

Written in the 15th century, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika is one of the most influential surviving texts on Hatha Yoga. It consists of 389 verses that describe techniques including purification, posture, breath control, mudras, and the yogic concepts of energy. In this training, you will:

  • Receive an overview of what this text contains and the message it conveys.
  • Discover the origins of Hatha Yoga.
  • Look at the relation of purity and practice: shatkarma, subtle bodies, and alchemy.
  • Learn ways to “hack” your consciousness, navigate inner space, and raise your awareness: pranayama, kumbhaka, and mudra.
  • Study the Hatha Yoga concepts of immortality, soma, and polarity.
  • Understand the serpent power: kundalini.
  • Study the integration of Raja Yoga and Laya Yoga.
  • Gain insights into samadhi, internal practice, and absorption.

PRACTICUM

  • To assess your teaching skills and understanding of the course content, you will pass two practicums – in week 3 and week 6. Each practicum consists of a 60-minute guided yoga class. In addition, you will assist your fellow students as an adjuster.
  • In week 6, you will also complete a written assignment to integrate what you have learned.
